Favorites from Group A of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Brazil and Mexico, jumpstarted their campaigns by winning against Croatia and Cameroon respectively. The two teams will be facing each other to gain the lead in the group in Fortaleza. Fans and experts shared their speculations on the upcoming game.

Brazil won against Croatia 3-1. According to Croatia, the referees were not in their favor after being called with a controversial penalty and getting a disallowed goal after they were called for a harsh foul. Learning from their game against Croatia, Brazil has to improve their defense and be prepared for counter attacks. Brazil also needs to up the confidence of their top scorer, Neymar, who already has two goals in the tournament.

According to the Liberty Voice, Mexico won against Cameroon with a final score of 1-0. The Mexicans felt that they should have scored higher after they were disallowed a couple of goals. El Tri showed more aggressiveness in their game compared to Brazil. Mexico also needs to improve its defense and expect that Brazil will offer a far better offensive strategy than Cameroon.

In a Telegraph report, the possible 4-2-3-1 for Brazil are Cesar, Alves, Luiz, Silva, Marcelo, Gustavo, Paulinho, Hulk, Oscar, Neymar and Fred. There is also an existing concern over Hulk after suffering from a muscle strain. The team has to determine whether his hamstring injury can be tolerated for the rest of the tournament or if he needs to skip practice to stay strong in actual matches. Should Hulk be decided to stay on the bench, Bernard or Willian will be the likely replacements.

The possible 5-3-2 for Mexico feature Ochoa, Aguilar, Moreno, Marquez, Rodriguez, Layun, Guardado, Vazquez, Herrera, Dos Santos and Peralta. The key players for the Mexican team will be striker Javier Hernandez and Oribe Peralta, who performed well against Cameroon.

John Ley of Telegraph predicted that Brazil will win over Mexico 2-1.

In report by The Independent, the odds for Brazil to win are 3.10 while the odds for Mexico to win are 11.1. The odds of the game ending in a draw are 5.1.

The two teams have played against each other 38 times. Brazil won 22 of those games while Mexico won 10. Brazil won all major competitions except the Olympics. In the last 2012 Olympic games, they lost to Mexico.

The upcoming match between Brazil and Mexico will determine the leader in their group to proceed to the knockout round.
