Mixed martial arts (MMA) fans are anticipating the next story about the drug test issues between Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen, who were supposed to face each other at UFC 175.

At first, Sonnen reported that Silva literally ran away from a random drug test which was supposed to be conducted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Vitor Belfort was set to fight Sonnen in Silva's stead, however, Sonnen himself tested positive for two substances, Anastrozole and Clomiphene, and will no longer be appearing at the fight as well. Sonnen further shared the news that he will be retiring from the UFC because of the banned substances which he regularly needs because of an existing condition.

In a report by Fox Sports, Dana White,President of the UFC, said that Chael Sonnen was done. White also said that if Sonnen had to make a choice between his career and family or health, the latter would be easy to go for.

White agreed that Silva's act of refusing to be tested is already as good as failing before the NSAC. Silva is set to appear before the commission on June 19 and White believes that he will be treated harshly. White said, "There's no loose ends with Wanderlei. I think the Wanderlei story is not going to end well. You know how this commission is right now - when you get caught taking performance-enhancing drugs you're gone for a year or whatever the suspension is; it's not good. I honestly know nothing about what's going to happen, but I would have to say they're going to make a serious example out of Wanderlei."

The MMA commission is also expected to render a strict ruling on Silva's reaction. According to a report from MMA Weekly, running away from a drug test is tantamount to admitting illegal use. Dana White said, "I love Wanderlei. Wanderlei has always been a great guy. (But) you don't walk out on a drug test... especially in Nevada." He added, "There is no way in hell they are letting him off. No way in hell! They are going to bury Wanderlei Silva... in my humble opinion. They're gonna bury him."

The difference between Sonnen and Silva is that Sonnen admitted his use and has a few justifications for these. Silva, on the other hand, placed himself in bad light. It is better to take and fail the test compared to refusing to take it at all. A more severe punishment is in store for Silva.
