Previously, mega producer Jerry Bruckheimer promised that there will be a fifth installment to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. In fact, the 5th sequel already has a working title: "Dead Men Tell No Tales."

Although the time table of the adventure flick is still fuzzy, the producer himself said that he hopes the project will soon get rolling.

"We're working on it, it's hopefully moving forward," he said, as noted by Coming Soon. "Johnny is excited about it, obviously Disney is, we're excited about it. So hopefully we'll get that going this fall or end of the year if everything lines up properly."

Speaking of which, it has since been confirmed that Depp will be back as Captain Jack Sparrow, arguably the franchise's most well-known (and loved) character. Well, frankly, can a "Pirates of the Caribbean" film ever be made or complete without Depp as the braided and dreaded pirate? However, the A-list actor is so far the first actor to be officially named as part of the cast of the fifth installment. We don't blame fans for assuming the rest of the gang will be back, aside from Depp himself.

When asked if Keith Richards will be back to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow's dad, Bruckheimer responded, "I hope so. We'd love to have him back, so we'll see."

It does look like they're keeping the gang intact. But what kind of adventure will they have this time?

A recent interview with Bruckheimer, as featured by First Coast News, has given us a little taste of what's to come. While attending the 54th Monte-Carlo Television Festival, the producer took time to talk about "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" and said that there will be "a new adventure for Johnny Depp, Captain Jack." He also mentioned that he hopes things will indeed get rolling soon.

What he said is actually no different than the statements he made a couple of months ago. Why the vagueness? This is probably due to the fact that the film's script has not yet been ironed out to the bigwigs' satisfaction yet.

We've reported last month that Disney is still working on the screenplay and that Depp is actually lending a hand in creating the said document to get things moving forward. Instead of a 2015 release, the said film has been pushed back to a summer 2016 launch. Whether this projected timeline will be pushed back even further remains to be seen.
