Goalie Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers saved the team from getting swept by the Los Angeles Kings in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Los Angeles Kings were more aggressive than ever, being one win away from bringing home the Stanley Cup. Lundqvist, however, kept them at bay by making 40 saves and allowing the Rangers to win with a final score of 2-1. The Kings still lead the series 3-1. New York has to win the next three consecutive games if they plan to win the championship.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Lundqvist was just amazing on the ice, rebounding, making key stops and killing the Kings' momentum as soon as it started. Lundqvist said, "We just talked about whatever happens, we're winning this game. We're not losing two in a row at home." The Rangers lost Game 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Only Kings center Dustin Brown managed to overcome the solid defense of Lundqvist. During the second period, Dustin Brown had opportunity to put it in the net and score the lone point for the Kings. He said, "Thank you" to Lundqvist after making five dekes before tucking the puck into the net. Benoit Pouliot and Martin St. Louis scored the two goals in favor of the Rangers.

In a report by USA Today, Martin St. Louis said about Lundqvist, "We believe in him. He's a big reason why we are here." Rick Nsah, forward of the Rangers added, "I think he elevates his game every single night."

After Kings captain Brown scored the lone point for the Kings, they were unable to find any more "puck luck". Even the Rangers were considered lucky, according to Derek Stepan, center of the Rangers, who swept the puck under their own goaltender after it literally stopped on the ice.

Jonathan Quick, goaltender for the Los Angeles Kings, had a 3-0 shutout performance in Game 3, which may have fired up Lundqvist to up his showing. Quick has also been very reliable on the ice since starting for the series. Since Game 2, Quick stopped 53 consecutive shots until the Rangers scored their first point in Game 3, in a report by the Los Angeles Times. The Rangers need Lundqvist to be more aggressive than Quick at this time. Vigneault said, "Anytime I put Henrik in goal. I know I have a chance to win."

The Kings will return to Staples Center in Los Angeles for Game 5.
