Pop singer Lady Gaga announced that her upcoming album, ARTPOP, will be a "multimedia experience" in the form of an iPad and iPhone app. The artist's album, which is scheduled for release in 2013, follows the immense success of her most recent album, 'Born This Way', and its worldwide tour.
Lady Gaga told fans that the new album app will be "completely interactive with chats, films for every song, extra music, content, gaga inspired games, fashion updates, magazines" in a statement posted on her website, LittleMonsters.com.
SPIN Magazine reported that the new interactive platform will be available through iOS devices, other mobile devices and on computers.
"You inspired me to create something that communicated with images, because YOU do, YOU communicate with me and each other with .gifs and pictures, and artwork, graphics ALL DAY 24/7/ YOU'RE an ARTPOP generation," Lady Gaga told fans.
The 'Born This Way' singer released the name of her new album a month in advance in August, despite asserting she would wait until September for the name release. On Wednesday, September 5, Lady Gaga also announced the dates for the U.S. leg of her international tour via Twitter.
A final release date for the album and its app has not yet been released.
