UFC President Dana White was deemed too lucky in a Las Vegas casino and was banned after winning $2 million.
White played at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and kept winning over a span of three months. Previously, he was banned for two years by the same casino for winning at table games, writes Fox Sports.
White boycotted the hotel for 22 months which caused the casino to lift the ban and invite him to their tables. When he returned and won about $2 million from March 1 to May 21, 2014, the Palms was compelled to put a $5,000 limit on all his table bets because he usually bets $25,000. Such a limit was almost similar to a ban in White's perspective.
White said in a report by Complex Sports, "Casinos don't want to gamble anymore. They're all owned by hedge funds and corporations. They want to stack the odds so much against you that you won't play. Realistically, there's only one place to play left in town. That's Caesars. They will let you play what you want to play. No messing around with limits."
In a Yahoo! Sports article, there were also rumors that Dana White gave huge tips to dealers costing about $200,000, although it was alleged that it was not the reason why he had a winning streak. He also gave tips to the staff of the N9ne Steakhouse of the Palms worth $10,000 after paying his $10,000 bill. He said, "A lot of people are going to think I'm a card counter after that Ben Affleck thing at the Hard Rock. I'm the farthest thing from card counter."
White expressed his disappointment over Palms and said that Mandalay Bay has invited him as a customer. He said he prefers casinos to let him play as he wishes, with no limitations. He denied having a gambling problem and said that he never had any problems with his personal life or career because of his gambling.
