Actress and activist, Eva Longoria is perhaps one of the most politically active celebrities this election season. Longoria, who is the co-chair of President Obama's reelection campaign, is scheduled to speak Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention.
A long-time activist for the Latino and women communities, Longoria will be presenting the President before he delivers his speech. The actress joins fellow Hollywood stars, Kal Penn, who spoke at the DNC on Tuesday, and Clint Eastwood, who spoke last week at the Republican National Convention.
Longoria, famous for her role on the show "Desperate Housewives," spoke to CNN about her speech and her part this election season.
"I've been speaking to two big communities important to the president-the women's community and the Latino community-and so I will be speaking about those issues, a little narrative about my American Dream and how I'm living proof of that," the San Antonio, Texas native told CNN host Piers Morgan.
She also said that she should not be compared to Eastwood and his speech at the RNC last week. Eastwood gave a confusing and long-winded discourse directed at an empty chair, which he pretended was President Obama and had viewers scratching their heads.
Longoria said, "He had a very different narrative. I'm, you know, a co-chair for the reelection campaign. I've been on the ground. I've been all over the United States speaking, not only on behalf of the President and his record, but aggregating voters, mobilizing voters, so I come from a very different position than Clint Eastwood."
