Black Swan actress Natalie Portman was rumored to be slotted for a speech Thursday evening at the Democratic National Convention, but recent reports from the Daily Beast suggest otherwise. Portman, who has been a vocal supporter of the Democratic Party since the 2004 election, spoke at a September 29 rally for the Obama campaign, placing her full support behind President Barack Obama.

"President Obama fights for women every day, and I am proud to stand with him on behalf of women and girls across the country," said Portman. "The President has proven that he is a strong advocate for women and a defender of the issues that are important to women and their families, from affordable health care to fair pay and quality public education."

The first bill that President Barack Obama signed into law was the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, which amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in order to help assure income parity between men and women.

Natalie spoke to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, expressing: "I think the thing that is most upsetting in the past four years is how partisan [the GOP have] been in blocking Obama's reforms."

"All of us should be putting our country first."

The actress was originally set to appear on stage with Scarlett Johansson and Kerry Washington after a performance by the Foo Fighters. However, Assistant Editor for the Daily Beast Marlow Stern reports that "Natalie Portman will NOT be attending #DNC, per her representative" via a tweet.

In 2008, Portman originally backed Senator Hilary Clinton during the Democratic primaries, but rallied behind Obama following his nomination.

Conflicting reports may have muddled rumors of her appearance, but it is clear we haven't heard the last from Natalie about the November election.
