As the weeks pass, we're getting more and more updates on what's going to happen in Glee's sixth season, which somehow strengthens the fact that there will be a season 6 indeed, presumed to be the show's last. We know fans are hoping it won't be. But that's another story.
Recently, we heard that there'll be a new addition to the show - Ben Ferris.
Cue this question: Who is he?
According to Wet Paint, Ferris is the frontman of the band Cursed Sails, which recently signed under Velocity Records. The Atlanta musician and his group released their first album just earlier last month.
So, if you're curious about their music, you can go check it out yourself. Be warned, though - his group's music is "nothing like what we've heard on 'Glee' before." Enstars described his band's music as "a heavy metal/screamo-based band." This should add some excitement and variety to the show's repertoire and musicality. This should make you wonder how Ferris will deliver his role in the hit series - will he go all screamo or will he do a rocker-turned-crooner shift?
Ferris had confirmed his participation as a guest star in an episode of the series with this tweet, which is somehow missing from his account now:
"So proud to announce I'm gonna be on an upcoming episode of Glee! Stay tuned for details."
Sounds like he's genuinely pumped to be part of the show.
Aside from his casting, he and his bandmates will be going on the road this summer for their Warped Tour. If you want to get a taste of what Ferris has to offer musically, you can check out one of his gigs if he's playing in your area. After all, "Glee" Season 6 is not due to air until spring 2015, although Fox has not really announced an official date for the season premiere just yet. There were no announcements yet on whether the show will be airing at its usual Tuesday 8 p.m. timeslot.
