Reports that Shakira is pregnant with a baby boy have been confirmed recently by HuffPost Voces, who said that a person in "Shakira's most intimate circle" says the Colombian singer is four months pregnant with a baby boy.
Additionally, Colombian magazine "Gente" reports that Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Pique have already picked a name for the child and that the two are calling it "Ulicito." According to the story from the magazine, Shakira and Pique visited an ob-gyn clinic in Miami for an ultrasound.
The source cited by HuffPost Voces has said that "Shakira has an illness more common than people think it is. It's called Toxoplasma and therefore she has to be more careful for herself and the fetus...until now they haven't been able to see the sex. The fetus is still very small...but the type of illness she has requires periodic exams that could reveal the sex of the baby earlier."
Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic disease that can be very dangerous to developing fetuses, according to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The Center estimates that upwards of 60 million people carry the illness and that it can be transmitted through exposure to cat feces or undercooked meats.
In other celebrity pregnancy news, several sources are reporting that Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting a child and that a baby bump will soon become visible. Hollywood Life and the Examiner say that a source close to the couple says the two have finally succeeded in conceiving a child.
"Friends say Kate is convinced it's happened, and while she and William are keeping the news close to the vest, they're delirious with joy. A woman can always tell when the earliest signs appear, and it's believe that a passionate night together at their rented country house on an estate in Wales, just after the end of the London Olympics, did the trick," the insider claims.
The source says that Kate is hoping for a daughter and that if her wish comes true, she and William plan to name the child Diana.
