Back in 2010, there were whisperings of a romance involving "Glee" co-stars Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison. According to Us Weekly, both were "similarly dismissive" of the reports at the time, saying they've known each other for years, even before their hit show debuted.
"I've known Matt for years. He's been a friend of mine from New York. People are going to make things up. I think it's just because we really are so close," Lea was quoted as saying in the past.
Matthew, for his part, told Parade the following in denial of the dating rumors: "We were literally on set and I got a call from my publicist [about Lea], and [Lea] got a call a minute later and we looked at each other like, 'What the f--k?' It's so laughable."
Well, after Lea finally admitted the truth about her and "Mr. Schue" in her new book, the rumor doesn't seem as laughable now. Her brow-raising admission may instead attract a lot of "I told you so's!"
In Lea's "Brunette Ambition" memoir, she confessed she did date the 35-year-old actor -- but did so before "Glee" and only for a brief period.
"When we shot the ["Glee"] pilot, I met Cory Monteith, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer for the first time. I had worked on Broadway with Jenna Ushkowitz and Matthew Morrison before. Matt had been a friend of mine for years, and in fact we'd actually dated back in the day for a Broadway beat," the 27-year-old actress wrote.
According to Us Weekly, this revelation actually comes late in the tome, "during a section about her getting the role of Rachel Berry on Fox's hit show about high school glee clubbers." Is this to keep readers from being distracted by the fact that the rumors were, indeed, true?
The actress then went on to have a relationship with former "Glee" love interest, Cory Monteith. Now, we wonder: Who's going to be Lea's new man?
