American TV networks revealed the list of their renewed and cancelled shows for the 2014-2015 season, expecting to know which stays and which goes according to the results of the 2014 Upfronts in New York City.

ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and The CW announced the home hours of their TV shows before the 2014 Upfronts, revealing a bufett for TV watches and the cards they will play to conquer advertising companies and their publicity for the next season.

With the Latino audiene being one of the most ambitious to conquer for American broadcasters due to their strong growth in recent years, The CW surprised its Hispanic fans with the appearance of Mexican actor Jaime Camil, by approving the broadcast of the comedy show "Jane the Virgin", in which the star of "Qué pobres tan ricos" participates.

Regarding The CW's announcement, Camil told The Associated Press that he feels very lucky to be chosen, acknowledging the luck they had with the "record of unapproved or cancelled shows" this season. "It seems like they're taking the pilot and the concept and then our incredible writer Jennie Urman will work her magic and creativity to develop a great story. Something similar to what happened with 'Devious Maids' which, although it's based on 'Ellas son la alegría del hogar', the original version has little to do with its development in the USA," added Camil in an email sent to the AP, according to Telemundo.

"Jane the Virgin" is inspired in the Venezuelan telenovela "Juana la Virgen". The story follows Jane, who being a virgin ends up pregnant through articifial insemination, carried out by mistake, which unleashes many events. Camil's role is that of a telenovela actor called Rogelio, who will have a relationship with Jane.

As an extra Latino tough, "Jane the Virgin" will feature the music of Colombian Juanes.
