The producers of the musical play "Que rico mambo" expressed their interest to hire the Cuban actor, who would have to fulfill a series of previous work projects before accepting the role.
According to Radio Fórmula, Levy has the following unfinished projects: a movie and the campaign as the main iamge for a clothes brand, which would make it impossible for him to join the cast of "Que rico mambo" immediatelly.
"Que rico mambo" is a play which hires renowned artists and regularly changes its cast. The play, in which actors wear colorful outfits and make hot dances, has had the presence of celebrities like Lorena Herrera, Maribel Guardia, Raúl Osorio, Daniel Arenas and Niurka Marcos.
If William Levy is hired for the production of "Que rico mambo", it would be the first time the protagonist of "La Tempestad" would return to the stage as a dancer since the show "Dancing with the stars" in 2012.
The last movie in which William Levy acted as "The Single Moms Club". The film directed by Tyler Perry, which tells the story of a group of single mothers with different lifestyles who come together to create a support group which helps them see the comical side of life's difficulties. Levy's role is a secondary character, but owing to the expectations regarding his first film in Hollywood, Levy might be an attraction for Latino audiences to watch the movie.
In the film, Levy plays Manny, an attractive waiter who works in a Mexican restaurant while he has an affair with Esperanza, the role played by Colombian actress Zulay Henao. Recently, Levy said that he used childhood experiences for this movie. "I grew up with a single mother and I never had a father figure to imitate. Fortunately or unfortunately, that though me many good things and I learned what my children need from me," said Levy, according to Fox News.
Besides his success in cinema, Levy managed to turn many telenovelas into great successes, such as "La Tempestad", which had high audience levels due to it being his last; he also stared in "Triunfo del Amor" and "Cuidado con el Ángel".
