George Clooney & Fiancee Amal Alamuddin Snapped Together; How Did He Propose?

It's been about a week now since the word about George Clooney's engagement to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin broke. The avid interest about their day to day goings on has not died down -- at least not yet.

It's understandable why -- he's one of Hollywood's most eligible A-list bachelors who famously and repeatedly said he's never going to get married because he's reportedly no good at marriage. She's a high-flying barrister from London's Doughty Street Chambers whose clients range from the UN's Kofi Annan to Julian Assange of the Wikileaks fame. She also is no less gorgeous; in fact, she topped a list of "hottest barristers in London" created by a legal blog.

The couple reportedly wanted to keep things hush-hush, but the excitement over the engagement somehow got in the way, with the entertainment media blabbing away about the near-miraculous turn of events in George's romantic life.

And now, for the first time since Thursday last week, the happy pair has been photographed together, The Daily Mail noted. Sightings of the couple together are rare, so this update is expected to generate much attention from fans and entertainment pundits alike.

"The 52-year-old actor and the 36-year-old British beauty were seen boarding a private jet at Van Nuys airport in California," the British publication said. "Amal wore blue and yellow striped trousers and a denim jacket as she made her way into the luxury aircraft."

"George led the way wearing cream boardshorts and a grey T-shirt, suggesting the pair were headed to an exotic locale. The couple were surrounded by security and minders, who carried their luggage for them on the runway," the news source described further.

On the heels of this sighting are reports on how the actor proposed to the Beirut-born beauty. According to Page Six, George "got down on bended knee last week after cooking a romantic dinner at his mansion in Studio City, and presented Alamuddin with a stunning 7-carat ring that he personally designed."

"He was so happy she accepted, he was calling friends with the news later that night," a source told the publication. Aside from this, there were also whisperings of a September wedding, which is only a couple of months from now. Well, what do you expect? The guy's in love!
