Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Carlo Ancelotti and Gareth Bale had a stellar performance against Bayern Munich. Real Madrid finished the game with a final score of 4-0.
Viewers described Real Madrid's play as "superb and aggressive" and criticized Munich for being "sluggish and pathetic", according to a report by The Telegraph. Bayern had a terrible showing, considering how they beat Barcelona 7-0 in the 2013 semi-finals.
According to BBC, Ramos scored two headers while Ronaldo scored another two. Ronaldo's free-kick late in the game was his 16th goal for the European campaign. Real Madrid's victory will let them play against either Atletico Madrid or Chelsea next for the final. Luka Modric set the ball from the right corner towards Ramos, who was all alone to score the first header against Germany. The second goal by Ramos was after Angel Di Maria's free-kick.
Bale set up Ronaldo to score the third goal. Ronaldo also hit a free-kick 20 yards away. Bayern already lost hope when the second half started as reflected in their apathetic play. Pep Guardiola, manager of Munich started feeling the pressure during the second half by taking out Mario Mandzukic and focusing instead on Javi Martinez.
Real Madrid, however, did not walk away unscathed as Xabi Alonso will not be joining them in the final on May 24, 2014 after being given a yellow card for a foul against Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to a report by The Guardian. Ramos was also withdrawn with over 15 minutes left to ensure he would not be given the yellow card.
Bleacher Report writes that Bayern's loss also takes away their opportunity to keep the title. Real Madrid is headed for "La Decima", also called the highly coveted 10th European crown. Madrid won the two legs of their semi-final matches. According to Gareth Bale, they wanted to capitalize on the counter attack. They expect the final to be hard but they are eager to win trophies more than anything else.
