A 3-year-old girl who was kidnapped last Sunday in Huron, a small community in Fresno County, was found on Monday and has been returned to her family, authorities reported.
Tanya Ruiz, a 3-year-old Hispanic girl was taken from her mother's vehicle on Sunday night, when the woman left her daughter alone for a few minutes to return to the apartment and grab the wallet she had forgotten, reported Los Angeles Times.
The California Highway Patrol published an Amber Alert on Sunday after the girl's disappearance, who was described as a 3 ft. tall girl, weighing 33 pounds and wearing a brown shirt with flowers and short jeans with white sandals.
Finally, authorities cancelled the alert yesterday, when the county's Sheriff found the girl running through a field close to the area where she was kidnapped on Sunday, according to a report from The Associated Press, reported ABC.
Authorities said that the minor was checked by doctors and is now with her mother.
After Tanya was reported as missing, witnesses told the police that they had seen a suspect abandon the area on a bicycle with the girl. According to ABC, the bicycle was found later, a block from where the girl was taken.
Investigators continue to look for the suspect, who was described as a Hispanic man of about 30 years of age, long hear, wearing a shirt and and a red hat.
