Mariah Carey is the diva who inspired many, if not most, of today's crop of divas. Despite that, it appears she doesn't mind copying the album release strategy of one of her famous admirers. Is she putting herself up for ridicule by this move?

"Carey will be taking a surprise approach to the project by revealing her new album's title, track listing, artwork and music all at once via to-be-announced digital partners," Billboard noted in an exclusive interview with the music industry veteran. "Though Carey doesn't mention other artists in describing her strategy, it's clear she's taking a page out of the 'Beyoncé' playbook."

It is interesting to observe that Bey and La Carey's last album both underperformed. Her "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel" sold a disappointing 549,000 copies in 2009 and produced only one hit, "Obsessed," according to The Daily Mail. Was Mariah convinced that the digital option is the best choice considering the successful run of Beyoncé's latest record?

In the Billboard interview, it was learned that Mariah's 14th album will feature collaborations with Jermaine Dupri, who also acts as her manager, and Rodney Jerkins.

Her upcoming record "is a surprisingly diverse roster that ranges from of-the-moment producers like Hit-Boy and Mike Will Made It, guest features from Wale, Nas and Trey Songz and even contributions from veteran arranger Larry Gold and the Love Unlimited Orchestra," the music news source noted.

The mother of two also said that album #14 won't be her last one. "I will always make music. When I said it could be my last, that's because tomorrow's not promised to anyone," she clarified.

She also hinted that she may return on the boob tube. However, she sees herself in the shoes of an executive producer when she does return to television. "I have another project that I'm so very excited about that's finally coming to fruition," Mariah revealed.
