Another star has been confirmed to join the cast of the sequel film for "Man of Steel." According to The Hollywood Reporter, theater actor Ray Fisher is joining the cast of "Batman vs Superman" as Victor Stone, also known as Cyborg.
The upcoming movie's Superman, Henry Cavill, hinted about the character roughly 4 months ago. ScreenRant reports that the actor mentioned the character at the behind-the-scenes content of the Blu-ray version of "Man of Steel." In it, Cavill was asked "which easter eggs from the film are his personal favorite," to which he responded:
"What really intrigued me was Dr. Emil Hamilton's connection to S.T.A.R. Labs. Cyborg I think would make a wonderful character and an incredible bridge between both superhumans and humanity in a different way to Batman. So I don't know where he's going to come in or if he's going to come in, but that's one I'm particularly excited about. Other references I'm not too sure on, but we'll see where those lead. Those with keen eyes will see them."
The Hollywood Reporter describes Ray Fisher's character, saying:
"Stone/Cyborg was for decades a member of the Teen Titans, a group of heroes that included the sidekicks of adult heroes such as Robin, Wonder Girl and Kid Flash. The character became retrofitted to be a member of the Justice League in 2011, when DC Entertainment relaunched its comic book line as the New 52."
The entertainment news website adds that several months ago, rumors regarding the character included a one-scene only role in the film. "The part at the time called for only one scene but promised more in terms of future movies. It is unclear if the part is still one scene," says The Hollywood Reporter.
Ray Fisher will be joining Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Gal Gadot and many others. "Batman vs Superman" hits the big screen on May 6, 2016.
