"X-Men: Days of Future Past" Director Bryan Singer will not be seen doing promotional activities for the upcoming "X-Men" film amidst a flaming sexual abuse scandal.

The director has finally broken his silence Thursday by denying the "outrageous, vicious and completely false" suit. In an effort to separate the film from the on-going suit and avoid distraction from the productivity and work of the cast and crew, Singer has announced his withdrawal from any and all promotional activities related to the "X-Men" blockbuster.

The full statement, captured by Variety, is found below:

"The allegations against me are outrageous, vicious and completely false. I do not want these fictitious claims to divert ANY attention from ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.' This fantastic film is a labor of love and one of the greatest experiences of my career. So, out of respect to all of the extraordinary contributions from the incredibly talented actors and crew involved, I've decided not to participate in the upcoming media events for the film. However, I promise when this situation is over, the facts will show this to be the sick twisted shake down it is. I want to thank fans, friends and family for all their amazing and overwhelming support."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the detailed suit "alleges that Egan was sexually abused by the X-Men director beginning at age 15 and continuing through age 17. The alleged conduct that took place included rape, other physical force and forced intoxication with cocaine, taking place amid ‘sordid parties,'"

Michael Egan, now 31, was a former model and actor and has come forward alleging that the famed Hollywood director, 48, sexually abused him at the young age of 15, as part of a Hollywood sex ring. CBS News reports that the claim states a Hollywood sex ring was in effect and run by entertainment executives. Promises of jobs and fame were allegedly given in return for sexual favors at parties with entertainment insiders.

The new "X-Men" film comes to theaters May 23rd. Singer directs the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page and Nicholas Hoult in the film.
