FBI agents in Houston started a world-wide search to locate the victims of William James Vahey, an American teacher accused of abusing dozens of children it at least 11 different countries.
James Vahey committed suicide in Luverne, Minnesota last month, two days after a federal judge in Houston authorized looking into an USB memory which allegedly contained images of sexual abuse against minors, reported KPRC, a CNN affiliate.
According to the same source, Vahey's memory stick contained pictures of at least 90 victims aged between 12 and 14, in cases from 2008, and the FBI wants other possible victims to make a statement in a case which has caught international attention due to the reach of the investigation, which proved that the American pedophile had acted in the schools of at least 11 countries.
Authorities revealed that James Vahey used pills to put students to sleep, all of them male, and then abused them, reported The Guardian.
The 64-year-old teacher had worked in a series of prestigious educational institutions in various countries, including the American Nicaraguan School, where he worked since 2003 teaching world history and geography.
In 2013, a staff member of the school was fired after Vahey accused her of steaking; however, on March of that year, the woman went to the authorities and gave them an USB memory stick belonging to Vahey which contained 90 images of him next to naked boys, seemingly unconscious, according to the Mail Online.
After being confronted by the school, Vahey admitted he abused the minors and days later, the FBI's Houston office formed an international team with police units from other countries to investigate the various cases the American pedophile was suspected of being involved in.
The FBI published four photographs of Vahey and his passports at different stages of his life with the hope of finding more victims.
