Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton announced that she is expecting her first child with husband Marc Mezvinsky during a joint appearance with her mother, Hilary Clinton at the "Girls: No Ceilings" event on Thursday. The event was sponsored by the Clinton Foundation and serves as a global initiative to empower young girls and women.
"Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year," said Chelsea during her speech in New York City, writes ABC News. "I certainly feel all the better whether it's a girl or a boy that she or he will grow up in a world full of so many strong, young female leaders. So thank you for inspiring me and inspiring future generations including the one that we'll be lucky enough to welcome into our family later this year," continued the 34-year-old.
"I just hope that I will be as good a mom to my child and hopefully children as my mom was to me," Chelsea was quoted by the Washington Post as saying.
