'Glee' Season 6 Spoilers & News Update: Murphy Says Season 5 Ending is 'Something Big'

"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy has shared new information regarding the show's Season 5 ending and a few tidbits for the upcoming 6^th season.

In a recent Q&A Monday with TV Line, Murphy reveals that he is already working on how Season 6 will go and has Season 5's last five significant episodes in place. The creator admitted that Cory Monteith's death called for a storyline rehaul.

Asked about his decision to end the high school part of "Glee," Murphy told TV Line, "Finn was going to sort of take over the glee club and Rachel was going to be off having her New York adventures. When Cory passed away, part of the story as we had imagined it didn't make sense anymore, really. It felt sad, to be quite honest. We collectively - Brad, Ian and myself - made a decision that the freshest thing to do was a complete, clean start. We accelerated all those New York stories, and I think that was the right choice. I think that gave the show a burst of new energy. It feels like a new show to me in that it's much more young-adult than it's ever been."

The series creator also assured fans that something big is set to take place in the last few episodes of Season 5 and that the events will be the foundation for Season 6. "All of these things are building to a head in [the finale]. I would say 'explosion' is too harsh of a word, but something big happens, and the final season is the aftermath of that," Murphy told TV Line.

As for Season 6, Murphy, via E! News has this to say: "The final season is really its own story and its own location and while the New York stuff will be alive, the final season is really not New York-centric."

He also told E! News, "We are going to do a time jump, and that's really all I'll say."
