The White House has announced that in response to recent civilian "buzz," including a petition on "We The People," which is the White House's online petition platform, it has decided to make public it's official beer recipes to drinkers around the country.

"With public excitement about White House beer fermenting such a buzz, we decided we better hop right to it," Sam Kass, Assistant Chef and Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives at the White House said in a blog post on September 1st.

The affore-mentioned petition, which was signed by over 12,000 people sought to get a sneak peek at the recipes for three White House beers. These beers include Honey Brown Ale, Honey Porter and the most recent addition: Honey Blonde. Officials say that the Honey Brown Ale is the first alcohol brewed or distilled on the White House grounds and was first introduced during President Obama's first term.

"George Washington brewed beer at Mount Vernon and Thomas Jefferson made wine but there's no evidence that any beer has been brewed in the White House...(although we do know there was some drinking during prohibition...)," Kass blogged.

The official politician's brew was inspired in 2011 when Obama purchased a home brewing kit for the kitchen. With recipe ideas from a local brew-master and tips from home brewers working in the White House, the current kitchen staff made a few of their own amendments and came up with the three beverage options that were made public today.

Kass tipped his hat to home brewers who credit specific secret ingredients to bringing out the best in homemade beer. He said his staff decided to follow suit and added their own special something to the official ales. To garner an utterly unique flavor, the brewing team decided to utilize honey tapped from the first ever bee-hive on the South Lawn in their recipes.

"[President Obama] has paid for the equipment and all of the ingredients and our chefs here worked on it on our spare time and it's just become an amazing new tradition here at the White House," Kass said in a video about the brewing process. "We're very proud of our new tradition here and we hope it lasts for years to come."
