To add hype to the present Major League Baseball (MLB) season, Domino's is giving away free pizzas in light of its previous successful campaign #DomiNoNo, MLB.com reports. The same hashtag offers to provide free pizzas to the first 20,000 fans to log on to MLB.com after the initial two no-hitters for the season.
Potential winners have to register on the official MLB website. 40,000 free pizzas will be given away, 20,000 for each no-hitter game. According to Domino's Pizza, the first two no-hitter games in 2013 happened within a month's time in July. All the free pizzas were claimed by winners in under two hours.
According to Pizza Marketplace, Chris Brandon, spokesperson for Domino's Pizza, announced that the company is excited to celebrate one of the great achievements in baseball -- the no-hitter. The company continues the promotion in collaboration with MLB.com. This time, the campaign is bigger as Domino's gives away 40,000 free pizzas in total. Baseball fans can join the contest easily and have a high possibility of getting a free pizza.
When a pitcher throws a no-hitter, MLB fans have to go and log on to MLB.com/dominos. The first 20,000 registered users will get a code to claim a free medium Handmade Pan Pizza with two toppings. They have to order online at dominos.com and the free pizza is for carryout only. The codes will be available for five days beginning at 3 p.m. on the business day after the no-hitter game. Baseball fans are further encouraged to use and follow the #DomiNoNo hashtag and the official user account @MLB on Twitter when a no-hitter game is unfolding into the sixth inning.
Hip2Save also provides for the rules and terms of claiming the free pizzas. People who are already registered with MLB.com can skip the account creation step. Codes that remain unredeemed within five days will be forfeited. According to Brandon, it is a great opportunity for fans to get quick updates from MLB via digital media.
