Timothy Bradley has finally started to realize the consequences of his actions, or the effect of his trash talking to Manny Pacquiao, at least. As their rematch on April 12 draws near, the American boxer is beginning to admit that he will be facing off against a fierce Filipino boxer, the IBTimes reported.
Bradley said, "He has been training hard, and I heard throughout the grapevine he has been looking sharp, and that's his job. He needs to be at his very best.
But still, the Desert Storm feels confident in his upcoming match as he throws out another verbal jab at his opponent. He asked, "When was the last time you saw him knock somebody out?"
But back in Pacquiao's camp, the Filipino pugilist is using the taunts of Bradley as fighting fuel. Since Bradley continuously talked about Manny loosing his fire and passion to win, the Pacman has been itching to show him his killer instinct, according to Yahoo Sports.
Pacquiao said, "The more he says that, the more he inspires me to show the hunger and killer instinct he's talking about. It's good for me but not for him."
"I'm not angry or disappointed at what he told me. I'm happy he told me that," Manny added." It inspired me to train harder and focus on the fight. It will benefit me. I have not lost the hunger. Sometimes we knock the guy out and sometimes not."
But his trainer, Freddie Roach, reiterated that Manny should not feel frustrated at Bradley's trash talking. Doing so might lead to a brash Pacquiao, who might forgo a fight strategy and instead go for an early knockout.
Roach commented, "We don't go into fights looking for knockouts. If they come they come. We're planning to beat him every round. If you try to knock the guy out you will be waiting all night."
"We need to be a little more aggressive in this fight. I think if we fight at an aggressive pace in this fight I think we will be able to stop him somewhere along the way," he added. "Whatever Bradley brings to the table we'll be ready."
