Miller Coors' Blue Moon Brewery has landed the most visible advertisement in the United States tonight, and they didn't have to pay a dime for it.
The company's publicity department has not overlooked the fact that a "Blue Moon", which indicates the second full moon in a single month, is a prime launching point for a campaign push for their Blue Moon brand beer.
"Hey, Aurora. Something this great only comes around once in a blue moon. So come on out and enjoy a Blue Moon on the blue moon at Fox and Hound tonight, August 31st, from 9-11PM. Blue Moon will be there as the official sponsor. Our new Caramel Apple Spiced Ale will be on tap and we'll be painting a mural as well. Cheers," posted the company on its official Facebook page.
In another post accompanied with a photograph of a moon, the company writes, "Like if you really knew what a blue moon was. Share if you didn't. And yes, you should celebrate the blue moon with a cold one from Blue Moon Brewing Company."
The Brewery is also taking this opportunity to introduce Caramel Apple Spice Ale, its new fall brew. According to CNBC, "The new beer is the result of a yearlong contest timed to roll out the day of the blue moon."
Caramel Apple Spiced Ale was up against Blackberry Tart, and Chocolate Porter before it was voted the winner by Blue Moon fans.
The blue moon in the sky was at its absolute fullest at 9:58am on the East Coast, and will be visible through the night after dusk.
