The security cameras of the subway station of O'Hare International Airport caught the dramatic moment in which a train derailed on Monday and crashed against the terminal's escalators.
The video, uploaded to YouTube on Monday, shows the exact moment in which the train loses control in a messy accident that owing to the hour did not cause major damage to people and fortunately, no one lost their life.
According to a report by the ABC, the video of the accident which happened in the early morning of Monday could have been much worse; however, it didn't go past a big scare in which 32 people were left with minor injuries.
According to the same source, the video was briefly uploaded to YouTube before being deleted; however, shortly after it resurfaced on Reddit, and so far authorities have not confirmed whether the video comes from one of the 40 security cameras installed in the Blue Line station of O'Hare Airport, despite it being easy to see it is the same terminal.
The video shows how the train doesn't stop at the end of the line, and ends up in the hallway until it crashes against the escalators.
A guard and a passenger who were talking there barely escaped seconds before the train crashed next to them and metallic debris were sent flying their way.
On Tuesday, the National Transportation Safety Board said that investigators continue their work to determine the exact cause of the accident, and no possibility is dismissed yet; however, they detailed that the investigations point towards defective brakes, signals failure or a human error being factors in the incident, according to Fox 6 Now.
