It's been just over four months since Mexican actress Karla Álvarez was found dead in her Mexico City apartment, a victim of anorexia and bulimia; and the problems regarding her inheritance continue between her family and her ex-husband Antonio D'Agostino.

Álvarez' private life came to the public spotlight after her death, when Mexican magazine TV Notas revealed that she did not have a good relationship with her parents and that in 2012 she secretly married Italian Antonio D'Agostino, who mistreated her and whom she divorced in August, 2013, a few months before her death.

What's surprising about Karla Álvarez' will is that before she died, she named her nephew as only heir, her sister Palmira's son, Carlos, a 16-year-old teenager who, according to the source, doesn't know what his aunt left him.

In an interview with TV Notas, an anonymous source close to Karla's family, detailed the process that the actress' family is maintaining in courts in search for a portion of the inheritance left by Álvarez, which is comprised of an apartment, a 2010 Mercedes-Benz, a 2010 Lincoln and two bank accounts.

The source said that Antonio D'Agostino filed a lawsuit to cancel the divorce sentence in December 2013, barely a month after the actress died, in order to demand "the part of the inheritance that belongs to him by right." The source added that the young heir has not been told he is the heir of Karla's inheritance. Carlos and his aunt always kept a close relationship, unlike the one she had with her parents, Carlos Álvarez and Mercedes Báez.

On November 15, 2013, Karla Álvarez was found dead in Mexico City, and the actress' family confirmed she had health problems and eating disorders, along with alcoholism.

The autopsy revealed that Karla died at 41 years of age from asphyxiation.
