Television personality Giuliana Rancic and husband Bill welcomed the couple's first baby Wednesday night in Denver, E! News reported.
According to the entertainment news site, the couple's son, Edward Duke Rancic, was born via gestational carrier weighing 7 pounds and 4 ounces and measuring 20 inches.
Bill Rancic first announced the news of his son's birth through Twitter. The entrepreneur tweeted, "The 'Duke' has landed! Edward Duke Rancic was welcomed into the world last night at 7lbs 4oz. G & I feel blessed beyond words...We did it!"
E! News reported that both parents were in the delivery room for the labor, which lasted a little over four hours. "Bill and I are blessed beyond words to welcome Edward into our lives," the proud mom said. "Thank you so much to everyone who supported us along the way. We are so in love with the little guy already!"
The couple announced they were expecting in April and aired a special "Guess the Sex" baby shower in June, parts of which were aired on E!, where Giuliana works.
Giuliana discovered she had breast cancer while seeking information on fertility treatments, according to E! News. The cancer, which was detected early, forced the 37-year-old to undergo a successful double mastectomy. The couple endured months of failed fertility treatments and a miscarriage before deciding on a gestational surrogate.
The couple actively promotes the importance of early detection in women. In April, Bill told the Today Show, "One of the things we've always tried to do is help others with our story. Whether it's with the infertility issues, whether it's with the breast cancer, we said we're gonna turn these negatives into positives. And if we can help others by sharing our story, then it's worth it."
