So, who got the boot this week?
Before we answer this question, let's do a quick rundown of what happened during the top 11 eliminations night.
According to Hitfix, over 72 million votes were cast Thursday night - the highest of the season. The show "has hit over 6 billion votes since Season 1," said the online news source.
Host Ryan Seacrest then introduced the American Idol judges and later mentioned that the night's cut will be "devastating" as he or she will not be part of the national tour after the competition ends.
Ryan then calls Caleb, CJ, and Dexter for their results. He then announced that all three are safe.
AI judge Harry Connick Jr then took to the stage and sang two of his songs, "Come by me" and "One Fine Thing," the Daily Mail noted.
"I know someone who really connected with that performance tonight," joked Ryan, after Harry was done with his performance.
As the night wore on, it was learned that MK, Ben, Majesty, Malaya, Jena, Alex, and Jessica were all safe. However, this meant Sam, Majesty Rose, and Ben earned themselves a place in the bottom 3.
Later on, Ryan announced that Majesty Rose and Sam are both safe for the night. Poor Ben had to sing to entice the judges to use the save on him. He picked "Stars" by Grace Potter as his make it or break it song.
However, the judges didn't do him any favors, aside from letting him know that they love him.
Did they send home the right contestant this week?
