William Levy is set to break into Hollywood on Friday when his new film, "The Single Moms Club," opens nationwide.

The film, directed by Tyler Perry, tells the story of a group of single mothers from different walks of life who bond and create a support group that helps them find comedy in the obstacles of life.

Levy's new role is a supporting character, but given the buzz that is being built around his Hollywood debut, Levy may draw Latino audiences to the affair.

In the new film Levy plays Manny, an attractive waiter who works at a Mexican Restaurant while carrying a love affair with Esperanza, a character played by Colombian actress Zulay Henao. Recently, Levy said that he drew upon his childhood experiences for the film. "I grew up with my single mom and never had a dad to look up to. Fortunately or unfortunately, that taught me some very good things and I learned what my kids need from me," Levy said, according to Fox News

Levy continued, stating that his personal life made him see the film through "the viewpoint of a single mom" who "doesn't have a man to protect her or help her out when she needs it."

During the press rounds Levy has also praised director Perry for his work and said that the director knows how to bring real stories to life.

Perry has scored box office hits with Lionsgate throughout his career. He recently had his first failures with "Peeples," which only made $9.1 million, but overall most of his low budget features have made over $50 million.

"The Single Moms Club" is one of Perry's first multi-racial films and as a result could target a wide variety of audiences. This time around it is likely his usual audience will show up in addition to whites and Latinos. Levy is also sure to draw a number of Latino audiences who have followed his career in the soap operas as well as the fans he acquired through "Dancing With The Stars."

Levy has turned many soap operas into big hits, such as "La Tempestad," which had a big audience due to the fact it was his last series; he also starred in "Triunfo del Amor" and "Cuidado con el Angel."

Levy may be playing a supporting role, but the actor is set to star in "Addicted" this fall as well as "Term Life" with Vince Vaughn. He will also star in a salsa movie with Jada Pinkett Smith. He is also slated to star in Jeff Goldberg's upcoming film "The Veil" with Thomas Jane, and "A Change of Heart" with Viginia Madsen. With all these roles coming so quickly, it will be interesting to see how his first Hollywood film performs.

Lionsgate will release "The Single Moms Club" in 1,800 theaters on Friday.
