An American couple, stars of the reality show "The Real Housewives of New Jersey", plead guilty on Tuesday to various fraud charges at the federal court in Newark, where they will be sentenced on July 8.

41-year-old Teresa Giudice and her 43-year-old husband Giuseppe Giudice, who have been accused of 41 charges among which are conspiring to commit electronic fraud, postal and telegram fraud, bankruptcy fraud by lying in official statements and tax evasion, among other charges, plead guilty before Judge Esther Salas on Tuesday, March 4, according to Reuters.

According to the same source, Teresa Giudice said in a statement read by her lawyer, Henry Klingeman, that she takes full responsibility "for the series of mistakes I made for many years".

"I'm going to describe the decisions I made, I will continue to assume responsibility for my decisions and I express my remorse to Judge Salas and the public. I'm heartbroken by the way this is affecting my family, especially my four little daughters, who mean more to me than anything else in the world," wrote the former TV star, according to Fox News.

For these accusations, Teresa Giudice, an American citizen, might face up to 27 months in prison, while Joe Giudice, born in Italy, might face up to 46 months in prison and being deported to his native country after completing his sentence.

According to a recent report by The Chicago Tribune, during the five seasons in which they were a part of the TV show "The Real Housewives of New Jersey", the Giudices stood out for their lavish lifestyle in which they spent large sums of money on themselves and their four daughters.

The couple admitted to court that since 2008 and until 2011 they presented fraudulent requests for mortgages and other loans with false documentation.
