After in early Jan. Mexican singer Lucero, known for being one of the habitual hosts during the philanthropic annual event of Telethon in Mexico, was harshly criticized for a series of photographs in which she posed while hunting animals, the people of Mazatlán have announced that they would symbolically "burn" the singer for her "bad actions".

In the context of the International Mazatlán Carnival, which is celebrated annually every year in the Mexican port, the singer will be burned on "Bad Humor" Saturday, one of the most important days of the celebration.

The "Los Bolcheviques" group, who decree each year who will be burned for their "affronts to society", took to the main streets of Mazatlán this week to reveal that this year's person chosen to expunge their crimes in public was the popular 42 years old singer, according to Mexican newspaper El Universal.

Raúl Rico González, President of the Municipal Institute of Culture, told the Mexican press that Lucero was the person with the most votes during the voting to choose this year's "burn victim", under the argument that the artist presents a two-faced moral to society for pretending to be interested in animal protection and going hunting, according to the quoted newspaper.

Last Jan. 7, Mexican entertainment magazine TV Notas revealed a photograph showing the singer and her partner, Michael Kuri, posing with hunting rifles next to the body of a mountain goat they had presumably killed. The magazine also revealed a series of pictures showing the singer's sons carrying rifles.

Almost immediately after the pictures leaked, among which stands out one of "Mexico's Bride" smiling with blood on her forehead, they caused a stir in social networks, which launched a campaign against the renowned artist.
