The Fullerton, California Police Department revealed that an eighth grade teacher was arrested on Friday, Feb. 21 under the suspicion of inappropriate sexual conducts with at least two students, local media reported.
Los Angeles Times reported that Melissa Lindgren, a professor at the Nicolas Junior High School faces various criminal charges among which are abuse of minors, child annoyance and the dissemination of harmful matter to a minor, local media reported.
The same source revealed that Lindgren paid a bail of $100,000 and was set free that same Wednesday while she awaits a future audience that will determine her legal situation.
According to CBS, last Saturday the Fullerton School District told the media that it is collaborating with the Police Department to help advance the investigation started against one of their teachers in accordance to their "zero tolerance policies towards inappropriate conducts by personnel, which District teachers, professors and personnel keep in a high standard."
The teacher's arrest was achieved after two "brave students" reported 28 years old Lindgren's activities. Lindgren lives in La Miranda, according to the quoted source.
For the moment, Fullerton School District authorities have said that Melissa Lindgren has been suspended until police investigations end.
Likewise, the School District has called for an extraordinary meeting with parents on Monday, Feb. 24 at 6:00 p.m., local time, to answer questions regarding this case.
Melissa Lindgren will have to show up in court next April 9 to answer for the crimes she's accused of.
