French authorities reported that they would close their investigation in relation to a third party that was suspected of being involved in the accident in which racing driver Michael Schumacher was involved last Dec. 29 as he skied.
The prosecutor of Albertville, Patrick Quincy, said through a press release through Reuters, that the investigation was closed last Feb. 12, dismissing the idea that a third party was involved in the accident that caused the driver to fall and put him in a coma due to a strong blow to the head.
"Investigations on the causes and consequences of the Dec. 29 skiing accident of Michael Schumacher (...) were closed on Feb. 12 (...) No person has been declared guilty of any violation," claimed Patrick Quincy.
In early Feb., Michael Schumacher was able to overcome a pulmonary infection he presented while he is still in an induced coma at the University Hospital in Grenoble, a state he's been in since last December after suffering an accident as he skied in the French Alps.
45 year old Michael Schumacher underwent two surgeries after the accident, and is in a stable but high risk status.
The last official news on his health were revealed in mid Feb. by his representative Sabine Kehm, who published a message from the family through a press release, expressing their thanks for the understanding that they do not want to reveal the details of the driver's health.
So far, the family has made no further statements regarding the driver. However, hopes are high during the process to wake up Michael from the coma.
