Are you single last Valentine's? So was crooner Austin Mahone, but instead of going out with his friends, he took out some fans who would note it as one of their best.
Eight Mahomies (as his fans are called) were chosen to have a special dinner with the singer after winning MTV's Ultimate Fan Experience.
Following the Valentine's Day edition of "Live from MTV", four members of the studio audience, each bringing a friend, got the chance to go out with the singer after the show.
Austin told MTV News, "We had some noodles, and some other Italian stuff, and it was really good, and I'm full, and it was delicious. We had a good time; we talked about Twitter and Flappy Bird."
The festive dinner was meant to be something for the fans. Mahone admitted, "I don't usually do this with my fans, so it's kind of cool every once in a while to take them out to dinner."
But the treat was equally sweet for Mahone as well. According to the singer, in celebrating the day of love, he would "usually sit alone in my room and cry." Or so he joked.
"No, for Valentine's Day I usually eat a lot of chocolate, watch some love movies maybe," he admitted. "I actually want to see 'Endless Love' in theaters, I'll probably see it tomorrow or something."
The MTV Artist to Watch tour officially kicks off on February 24 in Miami, and Mahone is gearing up for the show while putting finishing touches for his debut album, which will be released later in the year.
He told MTV News during the Grammy Awards, "The album, I'm still working on. I worked with so many amazing people and I have so many incredible songs, I want to choose them wisely, I don't want to put the album out and be like 'Man, I should have done this so much differently.' I just want to make sure it's perfect when I put it out."
