The President of the United States, Barack Obama, and the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, surprised Americans by choosing one of the restaurants of renowned Spanish chef José Andrés to celebrate Valentine's Day.
Last Saturday, Feb. 8, the President and First Lady of the United States took a brief break from the tight schedule they have maintained in recent days which includes the discussion of the awaited immigration reform, to relax and pamper themselves with a romantic dinner.
According to information published by ABC, on Friday, Feb. 14, the President and the First Lady will have to spend most of the day away from each other, since the President must meet with his Democrat colleagues in southern Maryland, while he must spend the rest of the weekend in California in a meeting with the King of Jordan, Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein.
This is why many have speculated that the couple decided to enjoy an early dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day.
It's worth noting that last year, the Obamas chose another of the Spanish chef's restaurants, "Minibar", to celebrate Valentine's Day, according to Univisión.
The romantic dinner between the President and the First Lady in the Mexican restaurant, Oyamel, however, comes amid the declarations of Democrat Senator Charles Schumer, who suggested on Sunday, Feb. 9, that the Congress of the United States approves an immigration reform that would go into effect when Obama leaves the White House, in 2017.
The Senator told the NBC that the best option would be to approve the immigration reform in 2014, but wait until 2017 to have it go into effect, after President Obama's term is over. The Senator said that this proposal is focused on eliminating the pressure of the 2016 electoral process, which might toughen the postures of conservatives.
