"Jurassic World" is set to start shooting in New Orleans.
The Radio Times is reporting that the the follow up to Steven Spielberg's '90s sci-fi flick "Jurassic Park" will start shooting in New Orleans in June.
The film will shoot in Hawaii's Oahu and Kauai, before moving to Louisiana.
The new film is currently casting and has Chris Pratt ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Bryce Dallas Howard, ("The Help," "The Village"), Ty Simpkins ("Iron Man 3"), and Nick Robinson ("The Kin'g of Summer") set to star. Meanwhile, Jake Johnson ("New Girl," "Safety Not Guaranteed") and Irrfan Khan ("Life of Pi") are both rumored for the movie.
"Jurassic World" will be directed by Colin Trevorrow ("Safety Not Guaranteed"), rather than Spielberg, who will take a producer role on the movie. Frank Marshall ("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"), and Pat Crowley will also produce the film, while Derek Connolly will write the script.
The "Jurassic Park" series is one of the most successful franchises ever created. The first "Jurassic Park" was released in 1993 and became an instant classic. The film went on to win three Academy Awards including Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing. The following film was released in 1997 and the third film launched in 2001. However, neither of the sequels was able to garner the same attention as the first film.
"Jurassic World" is due for release on June 12, 2015.
