Fans of the alt-rock band Foo Fighters can breathe a sigh of relief as reports emerge that the band will not be breaking up or ending their careers. A misunderstanding occurred on Monday after comments by lead singer Dave Grohl were made at the Reading Festival in England.
Grohl told fans, "Well, well, well, the...Reading Festival. You guys realize we've got a lot of songs to play. It's the last show of the tour and it's the last show for a long time," the Los Angeles Times reported.
Some fans took Grohl's comments to mean the band had called it quits and news quickly spread of the band's demise online.
However, a visit to the band's website shows that at least three shows are scheduled for September including Rock the Vote in N.C. and two concerts in Atlanta and Pensacola, Fla. The band announced they would be playing Rock the Vote at the Democratic National Convention on August 20.
Although the band did not address the breakup rumors, they tweeted a link to a photo fans could add themselves to on Tuesday.
Monday's performance at Reading included a large play list, the Los Angeles Times reported, and was dedicated to a number of people, including a "Happy Birthday" rendition to the singer's mother.
