What does the future hold for Juan Mata as a member of Manchester United? Two games in it's hard to tell. However, United legend Ryan Giggs thinks that future is huge for Mata and actually thinks that he could be a legend.
"I think he could. He's obviously got the talent," said Giggs, according to ESPN. "I don't want to put too much pressure on him, but I don't see why not. I think that coming here will help him with regards to playing for Spain as well, if he is playing week in and week out [for United].
"Spain have got a great side, so if we have a regular Spanish player within Manchester United, it will be great because they are such a good team at the moment."
Mata was acquired two weeks ago from Chelsea for 37 million pounds, a record deal for the club. The hope was that the Spaniard's creativity could help spark the otherwise lifeless team under manager David Moyes. Some believe that the move was made because Mata was unhappy with Chelsea (he was) and in order to excite an otherwise hostile fan base. Giggs states that the move has altered not only the fans' perceptions, but also the players'.
"The players are just like the fans. When they see a quality player come through the door, it gives them that excitement and you feel it around training. It gives everybody a lift," said Giggs. "He has fitted in well. Obviously, we've played against him for the last three years and know the quality he has got. He's fitted in straight away and speaks really good English -- better English than most of the lads."
Mata scored two assists in 13 games for Chelsea before joining United; he already has two assists in his first two games but has yet to register his first goal of the 2013-14 season.
