Disney and Marvel studios have found the writer for the third installment to "Thor."

Variety is reporting that the studio has hired Craig Kyle to co-pen the third installment in the "Thor" franchise with Christopher Yost.

Marvel CEO Kevin Feige was excited about the news and said, "I am proud of Craig and have enjoyed working with him over these past years. His creative instincts have helped shape 'Thor' and 'Thor: The Dark World' at every level of the filmmaking process. The entire team at Marvel is very happy to continue collaborating with Craig as he continues as a screenwriter working with Christopher on the forthcoming chapter of Thor's adventure."

Chris Hemsworth who has played the title role for the past two installments is expected to return for the third film. Meanwhile, Feige will produce the film.

Kyle most recently served as senior VP of production and development at Marvel Studios. Meanwhile, Yost did work on "Thor: The Dark World" and has also written scripts for a number of Marvel cartoon shows.

The news comes a few days after Marvel announced it was in early talks with Anthony and Joe Russo to return as directors of the third "Captain America." The studio is quickly lining up the third phase to their Avengers movies and is slated to release "Ant-Man" and "The Avengers 2" next year. The company is also developing a "Dr. Strange" movie as well.

The "Thor" franchise has been one of the most successful for Disney. The first film mad $181 million domestically and the second installment went on to make $204 million.

"Thor 3" does not have a release date yet and plot details are still unknown at this time.
