Sofía Espinosa, the actress in charge of playing the role of Gloria Trevi in the movie based on the life of the popular Mexican singer, recently spoke with the Mexican media about her role in the controversial movie that has not been authorized by the singer.
In early November 2013, the singer said that the movie based on her life, tentatively titled "Gloria," was not approved by her, and said that she's not involved in the project in any way and that she would even try to get it cancelled, which didn't happen because the artist had signed a series of contracts with the movie's producers in 2005, 2008 and 2010, reported The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie, which is expected to be finished in the second half of 2014, began filming in late November and has continued without a problem despite the singer's issues with producers Río Negro Producciones and Pelo Suelto México Films.
Despite these conflicts, actress Sofía Espinosa has been thankful for the opportunity to play Gloria Trevi and claims that her work in the film has been "enriching and intense," and that she's not worried about the rumors of a lawsuit by Trevi to stop the movie, according to People en Español.
"It has been some nice work, enriching and intense--some of the film's virtues," Epinosa told radio show "Fórmula Espectacular."
The Mexican actress said that she's a big fan of Gloria Trevi and said that the movie has allowed her to get to know the singer better, despite the frictions between Trevi and the producers preventing her from getting to talk with the pop star to better develop her role.
Likewise, Espinosa said that these conflicts don't distract her at all, since as an actress she's "committed to the role," and trusts she can do a good job.
