Actor and comedian Bill Cosby was victim of yet another Internet hoax on Monday as rumors flooded social networking sites alleging Cosby had died.
Cosby, 75, has fallen victim to this type of rumor several times before. In August 2010, the "Cosby Show" actor became a trending topic on Twitter when rumors of his death surface, the International Business Times reported.
In an interview with CNN on August 2, 2010, Cosby denied the rumors and asked the death rumor starters to stop.
"I don't want [whoever spread the rumor] to do this anymore, because this is my fourth time being reported [dead]," Cosby told CNN.
"I don't know. Maybe a psychiatrist will say I'm feeding [the rumor starter's] ego, but I just want to say to friends of that person: Just tell him to stop, because it isn't funny," the actor added.
Cosby was forced to deny the rumors after friends reportedly became emotionally distressed at the news. He later tweeted, "To the people behind this foolishness, I'm not sure you see how upsetting this is."
The Philadelphia-native joins a list of celebrities who have fallen victim to Internet death rumors. According to the International Business Times, Denzel Washington, Eddie Murphy, Adele, Taylor Swift, Kris Jenner, Justin Bieber, Bill Nye the Science Guy and Lady Gaga are just a few on the list.
