After years of waiting, Universal Pictures, via the movie's Twitter account, finally released the official photo for "Dumb and Dumber To", and Lloyd and Harry (played by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels) are up to their usual antics. The duo didn't even change much over the course of 20 years.
The long-awaited sequel to the 1994 comedy picks up the duo twenty years later as they seek for a child that one of them may have fathered, to ask for a kidney.
The original movie was a hit with $247 million in the box office worldwide, but a 2003 sequel that starred neither of the original duo, was underperformed upon its release, according to Huffington Post.
Meanwhile, the forthcoming sequel will star Laurie Holden and Kathleen Turner, with a cameo appearance by Jennifer Lawrence, who admitted in Screencrush to being a big fan of the comedy.
Another star, Texas Ranger Pitcher, Derek Holland, also revealed that he will appear in the opening scene.
However, Lawrence and Holland may not be the only ones who will make surprise appearances throughout, as Director Peter Farrelly revealed on a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" chat and as noted on MStars, that "We have some of the greatest cameos in film history in Dumb an[d] Dumber To. However, we want to keep them as a surprise. I will say this, some of the names I've seen bandied about are incorrect. But you won't be disappointed."
He was also trying to push for an earlier release, joking that, "We just finished shooting, don't want to brag, but it could be the best movie of all time. Seriously though, we're thrilled with it and are trying to get the studio to push the release date up."
But as of late, the new Twitter photo revealed that the movie is still set for its original November 14 release.
A teaser trailer for "Dumb and Dumber To" is going to be released in several weeks, and fans can expect the first footage of the film by March or April, according to Farrelly.
