The production for "Batman vs. Superman" will not be delayed despite a number of rumors.

According to Deadline, Ben Affleck will not be available to direct the Fox Pilot "The Middle Man" because of his commitment to the upcoming Zack Snyder film.

Affleck and the rest of his co-stars have reportedly already been called up to start work on the film immediately. Additionally, Deadline reports that Affleck has other film commitments in the spring when "The Middle Man" was expected to shoot.

Affleck has become one of the most respected directors in Hollywood over the past few years. He made his film debut with "Gone Baby Gone" and followed it with "The Town." He later won the Academy Award for Best Picture for his work on "Argo." However, he is not as respected as an actor. When Affleck was cast as Batman, he was met with mixed reaction from angry fans. The actor is best known for his work in terrible movies including "Daredevil," "Pearl Harbor," and "Gigli." Affleck was last seen in "To the Wonder" and "Runner Runner." He will next play the lead role in David Fincher's upcoming thriller "Gone Girl."

"Batman vs. Superman" is currently in pre-production with production slated to begin in May. The film will also star Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder will direct a script by Chris Terrio and Warner Bros. will release the film in May 6, 2016. The film is slated to be produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder.
