Harry Potter fans have more to celebrate as Muggles are given access to a bigger Wizarding World as Diagon Alley opens in Universal Orlando this summer. New thrill rides, eateries, and souvenir shops will be added, and visitors will be ready to board the Hogwarts Express in no time.
According to MSN News, the new addition will be located at the Universal Studios park in Orlando, and is connected to the original Wizarding World of Harry Potter in the Islands of Adventure via the Hogwarts Express train.
Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative said, "It's a one-of-a-kind two-park experience that will completely immerse you in the story."
Unfortunately, two-park tickets will be required to see both areas, and the current price for single-day admissions cost $136.32, including tax, for visitors over ten.
The new ride, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts is the "marquee" attraction that will take you through the vaults of Gringotts. A spokesperson for Universal also added that other experiences offered will be announced at a later date.
Authenticity is what fans crave, and that is exactly what the park wants to deliver. Said Woodbury, "The attention to detail and authenticity was really important to the Harry Potter fans but also a marvel to the novice fan. They both really are captivated by the level of immersions and storytelling."
New eateries include the Leaky Cauldron and Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour. Among the new shops include Borgin and Burke's, which is dedicated to "Dark Arts," sells "sinister items" such as masks and skulls; Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, for Hogwarts school uniform shopping; Wiseacres Wizarding Equipment for telescopes and binoculars and other things that a student will need at Hogwarts; Quality Quidditch Supplies for Quidditch sweaters, broomsticks, and items used to play the game; and Scribbulus, for writing materials such as feather quills, inks and inkwells, as well as journals, parchment paper, and seals.
