Instagram fitness star Jen Selter went from being an amateur fitness enthusiast to landing a lucrative sports management deal under The Legacy Agency, the same agency that represents big names, including baseball stars Carl Crawford and Johan Santana; NFL players Osi Umenyiora and Reggie Bush; and sports broadcasters Troy Aikman and Dan Hicks.
Having nearly 2 million followers in a year, the 20-year-old Long Island native started by taking photos of herself working out in March 2012. Since then, She has gathered 2 million Instagram followers, half a million Facebook fans, and 200,000 Twitter followers.
Dubbed as the next Jillian Michaels, TLA agent Andrew Witlieb believed in Jen's capacity as he compares her to 39-year-old "The Biggest Loser" judge Michaels.
Witlieb said to Fox News, "We believe she can be the next Jillian Michaels. Jillian didn't get to where she is until her mid-30s. Jen's going to grow as a person, as a fitness expert, in these next years. She's here for the long term,"
Witlieb also added, "She was someone I never heard of that had 1.3 million Instagram followers, now 2 million, since the Post story. This was a combo of health, wellness and fitness meets social media. This girl's really onto something."
Selter, who is now a spokesperson for a nutrition supplement company, was offered several sponsorships from big brands like Nike, Lululemon, and World Balance. She would not say how much she makes out of her deals, bus she shared that they give her "a lot more money than a graduate would be making."
She also noted that she hopes to have her own line of workout gear or chain of gyms one day. For her social media posts, the 20-year-old admits to her photos being showy, but she told The Daily Mail that she merely wants to inspire people.
She said, "I see myself motivating and inspiring everyone around the world. With hard work and dedication, anyone can get to where I am."
Her first appearance since signing with TLA will be at the Super Bowl next week.
