A plethora of new images for the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" have been unveiled.
The photos feature a tremendous amount of Electro, including a series of shots from what looks to be the same scene. In the series, the villain seems to be connected to some device. In the foreground of the image is the back of someone's head, seemingly Harry Osborn (played by Dane DeHaan). It is known that Oscorp will play a major role in the film, but it is still unknown what the relationship is between Harry and the electric villain.
Another image features Spider-Man attempting to hold up some sort of device that could be the glider of the Green Goblin. Electro has been promoted as the main villain in the film but it is known that a third film in the franchise is already planned by Sony Pictures; will Goblin play a major role in the film or will he simply be part of a set-up for the next installment?
Which brings us to the next question and next image. One of the pictures showcases Gwen Stacey down below in some engine room. The camera is at a high angle looking down at her as she seemingly pleads for help? Her disheveled look betrays the fact that she's in tremendous peril. Is this her big death scene at the hands of the Green Goblin? Some point to the fact that the outfit she is wearing in the image matches the one that showcases Stacey's death in the comic books. However, Gwen is bound to be in danger no matter what happens in this film, so do not hold your breath for anything. After all, why get rid of a major star like Emma Stone?
One final image of note features a stripped down Rhino caught in a web while Spider-Man runs away. Will the villain play a major role in the film or is this simply setting him up and his hatred for Spidey?
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is slated to hit theaters on May 2, 2014.
