The upcoming "Jurassic World" is slated to start filming in Louisiana on June 2, according to reports.
The film is the latest of a slew of motion pictures taking their production to Louisiana as the state offers some of the best tax rebates in the business. Other major films shooting in the state include "Terminator 5" and "Pirates of the Caribbean 5." Among the other major films to shoot in the state in the last few years are "Django Unchained," "Beasts of the Southern Wild," "Ender's Game," "The Expendables 2," "12 Years a Slave," "Lee Daniel's The Butler," "Old Boy," "Looper," and "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2."
There is little known about the script at this moment, but Chris Pratt recently joined a cast that includes the likes of Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins.
One major casting omission from the upcoming installment in the franchise is Sam Neill, who has confirmed that he will not be making a return to the film.
"I think there's a whole new cast and a whole new look at things, and I think that's great," said Neill. "As I said, I'd never say no, but I wish them... well, I'm sure it's going to be great, but they don't need me."
"Jurassic World" will be directed by "Safety Not Guaranteed" director Colin Trevorrow. The film is set 22 years into the future and will be released on June 12, 2015. Other major films being released in 2015 include "Star Wars: Episode VII," "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" and "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" among others.
