According to announcements and advertising, Miley Cyrus was said to appear at the Miami South Beach Outdoor Festival scheduled for New Year's Day. She did not appear in the event and according to TMZ report, the promoters are suing an allleged representatives of Cyrus due to breach of contract.
The report says the promotion company had paid $125, 000 to a woman who claimed to be the booking agent for the "Wrecking Ball" singer. The said amount was wired to a bank account during the negotiations and finalization of the appearance details.
The woman, according to a Star Pulse report, has yet to be identified. The woman, in her defense, claims she did not do anything wrong as she forwarded the amount to Cyrus' team with instructions for the show. The representatives of the singer, however, denied any involvement in the matter. They said the defendant has no connection whatsoever with the former Hannah Montana star's true booking agent.
This is not the first time Miley Cyrus has had to deal with lawsuits. According to a Fox News report, among them is a class action lawsuit against the star in 2009. The damages sought was at $4 billion filed by Lucie J. Kim, who said that a photo where Cyrus was sitting on the lap of former beau Justin Gaston with a group of friends was offensive to all Asians living in LA. The singer and her crew were making a gesture of pulling their eyes in a slanted position, something known to be offensive to Asians.
The Inquisitr also reported in 2013 that Miley could also face another lawsuit, this time from Sinead O'Connor. According to the report, Miley had revealed that her "Wrecking Ball" video was inspired by the Irish pop icon. Now, O'Connor is saying that she is "concerned" that people had led Cyrus to believe "that it is in any way cool to be naked and licking sledgehammers."
